Can We Get Rid of Old Traditions?

March 2, 2021 cPiulb@ Leave a Comment

Religion was ushered in by men, men thought of it, and men wrote it, so, now today we are living that old traditional lifestyle.

First of all, I am old school, male, and raised in the Baptist Christian Faith, and back then we had a tradition called decency, dignity, morals, etc.… After all the question is, can we get rid of old traditions?

Some recent information has caught my attention, concerning the clothes that women wear, I added man clothing to this discussion too, not so much for the type of clothing, but the way a man wears his clothing. The clothing people wear is determined by traditions.

I had a talk with some women a while back, they were complaining about the clothing that society say they should not wear, but they would like to wear the clothing of their choice. It is funny that most of the clothes women can wear today were determined by men.

I guess women were not knowledgeable enough to determine what attire they would like to wear, so men had to do it for them. With me being an old-school religious male, I went along with the traditional rules determined by men governing what attire women could wear.

My old school traditions would not let me understand why a woman would want to wear a dress so short that she would have to cross her legs when she sits down, or her underwear would be showing. But some men show their underwear some of the time, and I did not agree with that either.

The women I talked with said they like to wear revealing clothes, it makes them feel better about themselves, and besides they like to look and feel sexy. They said the problem is men cannot control their own sexual desires, so he prefers if women do not wear revealing clothes. Whose problem is that?

You can call it decency, dignity, morals, or whatever you want to call it, the answer is it’s just old traditions that should be done away with, it has nothing to do with religion. Holding on to old traditions makes life miserable for almost everyone.

Since there is no national dress code, let people wear whatever they want to wear, as long as they are wearing something. Plus, no insane person is going to expose their sexual organs to the general public anyway, at least I do not think they will.

Racism is a tradition that has been passed down for many years. These people instill hatred, prejudice, racism, etc. in their offsprings, and their offsprings do the same thing, so the tradition goes on and on and on, never-ending. What a sad way to live? Someone once said if you hate your brother, then you hate God too, is that true?

I had a problem with women wearing skimpy clothing around me, but there is no law that states I must look at them, so I just turn my head whenever a lady wearing skimpy clothing came near me. That works fine for me now, hopefully, there may come a time when I will not need to turn my head the other way.

The problem does not stop at what women can wear, but also what they can and cannot do or say. I wonder if women had made all of the laws and rules, would they be biased against men, or would they just let us do and say whatever we wanted to, as long as no one is harmed.

There are some good traditions that we should hold onto, but most of our traditions are just our obsolete way of thinking. Today let’s make it a priority to start letting go of some of our old outdated useless traditions.
