The reason I asked that question is that I received a million second chances, and I am still getting second chances.
There was a time when I would not give a person half of a second chance, but I reluctantly realized everyone deserves a second chance. Ask yourself should everyone get a second chance?
When I was younger, I dated a woman that had an affair with another man while we were dating, that incident hurt me so badly, so I refused to give her a second chance. It was hard for me to understand I had to forgive her for having the affair.
We broke up, but I did forgive her, so she could go on with her life and I could go on with my life too. Sometimes when a person has an affair with another person of the opposite sex, it could be love, or it could be just an infatuation, or it could be the other mate did not show affection.
If someone had an affair with someone else while you were married to them or you were dating them, there are some things you should consider. Do you really want that person in your life anymore? If not, you should divorce or stop dating each other, both of you should be comfortable with that decision.
I do some stupid stuff sometimes, and I keep saying I am going to stop doing stupid stuff, but I just keep on doing stupid stuff. I have to ask Jesus day in and day out to forgive me for continuing to do stupid stuff, and he continues to give me a second chance daily.
A second chance is something everyone likes to receive, but we seldom like to hand them out. A second chance is a big relief to whoever receives one, no matter what stupid stuff they did. No matter what stupid things we do, we are all entitled to a second chance.
It frightens me to think one day my second chances may be all gone because I use them up so often. Second chances are important because we all make mistakes sometimes, and you need a fresh start to clear your mind as you start anew.
The trick here is to try not to need so many second chances, this can only be accomplished through Jesus. Before we were born Jesus laid out a perfect plan for all humans to live by, if you live by Jesus’ plan you probably will not need many second chances.
The problem is very few people live by Jesus’s plan, but most of the people are at least trying to. When you have physically or mentally hurt someone, and you realized what you did was unfair, you want to try to make it up with that person, this is when you really need a second chance, but sadly in some cases, you may not get one.
There are some people who will not give you a second chance, maybe they do not realize one day they may need a second chance. That is why it is so important to give people a break because when you need a break someone will give you one.
In the bible in verse Luke 6:31, it states – Do to others as you would have them do to you, which means you must give out second chances in order to get one. So now you can see the benefits of awarding second chances you never know when you may need one.
Sometimes if you are angry with someone, you may be hesitant to give them a second chance. After you calm down and think about it for a few minutes, you will gladly give them a second chance hopefully.
