What Does the Bible Say Concerning Going To Church?

That question has been asked a million times by many different people, but mostly by people of the Christian faith.

It is not mention in the bible that going to church is required to enter into heaven. First of all lets clear up one thing, when Jesus said “on this rock I will build my church”, the rock he was referring to is Peter his disciple and the church he was referring to is the people who are believers/members.

Most people refer to the church as some type of worship service building, when in fact the church is the believers and/or members. In the part of the world where Jesus lived, the place where they held their religious worship services was called a synagogue. NOTE: Jesus did not say “on this rock I will build my synagogue, because a synagogue is just a place for worship, just as a church is just a place for worship.

So back to the question, what does the bible say concerning going to church? John 3:16. God gave His only Son so that people could have eternal life. All the people who accept Jesus’ sacrifice as payment for their sins will spend eternity in heaven. This very act destroyed the need to perform good works, which includes going to a worship service.

Although Jesus did say – Hebrews 10:25 “Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching”. NOTE, Jesus did not specify where the meetings together should occur, it could be in a house, park, or almost anywhere.

I am sure some of the religious preachers and teachers explains to their members that the building where the religious service is held is not the church, but the people in the building are the church. And some of the people in that building that is called a church will not go to heaven. Jesus told people to attend a worship service because there are other good benefits in it for them.

First of all you must understand that the so called church buildings are nothing more than just another form of business, and all businesses operates for profit. So if you are a member of a religious worship services and they ask you to donate money to help pay the bills, you should do so.

If you ask the people in the religious business the question “do you have to attend church to go to heaven?” Most of them will answer with a yes. Because if they told you the truth you probably would not go to the building they call a church, thus not giving them your money.

Most people end up missing heaven because they believe if they go to the so called church building regularly, paying their tithes, and do their so called good deeds, they will go to heaven. The truth is the only way you can go to heaven is admit that you are a sinner and acknowledge that Jesus died for your sins on the cross and ask Jesus to come into your heart.
